Q. What time do events start and finish?
A. Through the Winter period, events will normally start at 09:00 and finish at 16:30. Through the summer, events will normally start at 08:30 and finish at 17:00. Please check event description for times.
 
Q. Do I have to wear headphones?
A. Yes. Headphones must be worn all all times unless there is a medical condition declared to the event organisers or if a unit malfunctions.
 
Q. Can I bring my dog?
A. Some landowners refuse to allow dogs. Others provided they are on a leash. We will state on the
event description whether dogs are allowed and under what conditions.
 
Q. Do I have to declare my finds or do LGD do it?
A. It is the responsibility of the finder to declare any item of treasure and the organisers will
try to advise at the time.
 
Q. How do I pay for events?
A. The majority of events are 'pay on arrival'.
 
Q. How do I earn free digs?
A. Each time you attend a event you get a day attendance stamp. When you have 12 stamps, you can use this on the next event (13th) to claim a free dig. You will then be issued with a new card and this is eligible for a stamp from your next paid event.
 
Q. How many free digs can I claim?
A. There are no limits. Every full card is worth a free dig and has an unlimited claim time.
 
Q. Do I have to show my finds?
A. We request all attendees show their finds for photographing during or after the event. Please note, no finds are withheld by the organisers, they remain the property and responsibility of the finder.
 
Q. Are there toilets on all events?
A. We provide toilets on events where the numbers justify the cost. If toilets are available, we will state this on the event description.
 
Q. Is there catering on all events?
A. On most events there will be Tea/coffee/light snacks. Full catering will be announced on the event description if available.
 
Q. What is the cost for children to attend?
A. Children up to the age of 16 are invited to detect for free on all events.
 
Q. Can I bring a non-detecting partner and would they have to pay?
A. Non detecting partners are welcome to attend all day events at no charge. On camping weekends there may be a nominal charge towards utilities.
 
Q. What happens if I hurt myself or incur property damage?
A. Please read our terms and conditions.
 
Q. What should I do if I find I cannot attend an event after I have booked?
A. You need to cancel your booking on the event. If this is not possible, you should contact us and let us know as soon as possible. Failure to attend a booked event with no notification could result in your loss of membership.
 
Q. On camping events, what are the options available regards the type of accommodation allowed?
A. Tents, campers, cars, vans, motorhomes. All are welcome unless stated otherwise.
 
Q. What facilities are provided on camping events?
A. On the majority of camping events, we will provide toilets, water, catering and charge points. There will NOT be electric hook up points. Each event will state what facilities will be present.
